Sunday Praise: What’s Made Me Happy This Week?
Welcome to my weekly post where I celebrate the small, good things that are getting me through these very strange times.
- My favourite author David Mitchell was all over the airwaves this week, first on A Good Read and then as a brilliant guest on Desert Island Discs.
- I know the trailer for Wild Mountain Thyme is utterly, utterly terrible, but the reaction to it on social media was a lot of fun this week!
- We took a bit of a breather from Ozark (man that show is fast-paced) to watch Season 3 of Call My Agent which is just the most charming of shows.
- My sister bought me a very cute cup for my birthday and I swear my coffee has been tasting better since I started drinking out of it.
- Another birthday present that made me happy this week was a delicious bottle of port. There is nothing like a wee glass of port in front of the fire to make you think everything is right with the world.
- New stationery always helps…
- I have come to realise that when thing are getting tough or stressful, a quick trip to the North Coast will blow the cobwebs away and put things in perspective.
- Volume 6 of the gorgeous Winter Pages, the annual Irish Writing Anthology has been published and I got my hands on a copy at yesterday.
So, what in your life deserves some praise this week? Let me know in the comments!

Happy belated birthday Cathy! I agree that being near the coast alleviates stress and puts things in perspective.

I agree. Happy belated birthday from me too. Lovely notebook. I have lots of beautiful notebooks which are quarter filled with something or other before I decide I like another one better 🙂

I’m exactly the same! Although I do use my Leuchturrm as my daily diary so it gets used at least!

I love those Leuchturm notebooks – think it might be about time for me to get another one, in fact! My Sunday Praise thing is that I got to see the friends in my support bubble this week for the first time in a while, and it was just great to spend time with them 🙂

I love them too – I always spend way too long trying to work out what colour to get next! So glad you got to see your friends. These things are so important x

It really helps hearing about people getting out and about on a dark stormy day such as today. Uplifting.

I couldn’t watch all of the trailer, but I’m looking forward to it – what a lot of fantastic actors!

OMG I just watched the trailer – lol!!! It sounds like I missed out on some entertainment this week :D. Also I totally binge watched Ozark, so dark but also so good. Can’t wait to watch the next season.

A coastal trip of any duration is a wonderful thing for the soul.
That is a cute cup! Be careful of those shiny accents as I put mine in the microwave just to heat it up a bit and bam… explosion.

Happy belated birthday. what a lovely mug! I am using a Leuchturm notebook these days too, but I might switch to some other brand with thicker paper next time around. Let us know if you’re happy with it, I’m a great stationery fan!

Thank you! I’ve been using Leichtermm for quite a while for my every day diary but I also use a Rhodia Goalbook for blogging. You might like it as it has slightly thicker paper. I love my stationery too 🙂
