My Year in Books 2020!
This meme has been popping up a lot in the last few days. I spotted this meme first on Annabel’s blog and since then I’ve enjoyed reading it on Juliana, Laura, Karen and Lisa‘s blogs and I thought it would be fun to do!
Using only books you have read this year (2020), answer these questions. Try not to repeat a book title. (Links in the titles will take you to my reviews where they exist)
In high school I was In Persuasion Nation (George Saunders)
People might be surprised by The Wild Laughter (Caoilinn Hughes)
I will never be a Five Star Billionaire (Tash Aw)
My life in (full) lockdown was like Hostages (Oisin Fagan)
My fantasy job is Actress (Anne Enright)
At the end of a long day I need The Trip to Echo Springs (Olivia Laing)
I hate Our Little Cruelties (Liz Nugent)
Wish I had A Theatre for Dreamers (Polly Sampson)
My family reunions are The History of Love (Nicole Krauss)
At a party you’d find me with The Stranger Beside Me (Anne Rule)
I’ve never been to Tennis Lessons (Susannah Dickey)
A happy day includes Tea at Four O’Clock (Janet McNeill)
Motto I live by The Truth Must Dazzle Gradually (Helen Cullen)
On my bucket list is (to live) Beside the Sea (Véronique Olmi)
In my next life, I want to have A Certain Smile (Francoise Sagan)
So there we have it! Anyone else fancy joining in?

I almost had Actress as my fantasy job as well, then I realised I would hate it 🙂

I studied drama and acted very briefly in my early 20s so I had to pick it!

Excellent answers! Mine always turn out very noir because of all the crime… 😉

This was such a fun meme / book tag! I do hope that at a party, The Stranger besides you are not a serial killer on the prowl. Rather see who talks to the cats. Always a safer option.
I’m a couple of days late with this one, but here’s my My Life in Books 2020 Edition
