My Year in Books – 2022!
I first did this fun meme back in 2020 but in the last few days I spotted it again on Annabel’s blog and I thought it would be fun to do again!

Using only books you have read this year (2022), answer these prompts. Try not to repeat a book title…
(Links in the titles will take you to my reviews where they exist)
- In high school I was Beyond Black (Hilary Mantel)
- People might be surprised by The Comfort of Strangers (Ian McEwan)
- I will never be The Last White Man (Mohsin Hamid)
- My life post-lockdown was: Bedlam (Jennifer Higgie)
- My fantasy job is Breaking and Entering (Joy Williams)
- At the end of a long day I need The Silence (Don DeLillo)
- I hate being In A Strange Room (Damon Galgut)
- Wish I had Paradais (Fernanda Melchor)
- My family reunions are The Tie That Binds (Kent Haruf)
- At a party you’d find me with Everything Ravaged, Everything Burned (Wells Tower)
- I’ve never been to Sea of Tranquility (Emily St John Mandel)
- A happy day includes Dance Move (Wendy Erskine)
- Motto I live by: Happy Are the Happy (Yasmina Reza)
- On my bucket list is How High We Go in the Dark (Sequoia Nagamatsu)
- In my next life, I want to have Gratitude (Delphine de Vigan)
So there we have it! Anyone else fancy joining in?

I love these! Will be posting one on Friday. I’m not sure I’d be up to a party with you these days…

I chortled over your description of life post Covid. From what I remember you did have a pretty turbulent time this year!

Bedlam could be used to sum up my life at any point to be fair!

I nearly snorted when I got to “At a party you’d find me with Everything Ravaged, Everything Burned“! Great choices, and now I really must see if the local bookshop has an Emily St John Mandel title on their shelves as she appears so regularly in the bookish blogosphere.

I prepared one before Christmas and then didn’t post it. I might. They are fun and I enjoyed yours. I might still post it!

I completely forgot about this one. I’ve done these in the past – at least two years in a row. Gotta do another, so I’ll use this for a filler post in January (or February… we’ll see)!

Hi Cathy,
Your post tempted me out of a state of writing lethargy (I haven’t posted in ages) but the thought of writing about books is a great stimulation so I’ve done My Year in Books which can be seen at (sorry, I couldn’t get the link to work in the comments section):
