Reading Ireland Month: Opening Week Round Up!
Well, that’s the opening week of Reading Ireland Month done! I’ve been easing into things this week and doing more planning and reading than posting, but there has still been a lovely buzz in the blogosphere.

This week I shared the Irish Literary News from February and took part in Six Degrees of Separation including only Irish authors!
Lots of you kicked off the month in style and there were some great reviews on blogs and Instagram:
Factory Girls by Michelle Gallen – Claire at Word by Word
The Colony by Audrey Magee – Marina Sofia at Finding Time to Write
Old God’s Country by Sebastian Barry – Helen at She Reads Novels
Old God’s Country by Sebastian Barry – Margaret at Books Please
A Short History of Irish Literature by Frank O’Connor – Nancy Elin
The Queen of Dirt Island by Donal Ryan – Lynne at Fictionophile
The Winter Guest by W.C. Ryan – Constance at Staircase Wit
The Banshees of Inisherin (Film Review) – Arti at Ripple Effects
Miss Gomez and the Brethren by William Trevor – Kim at Reading Matters (as part of A Year With William Trevor)
Brooklyn by Colm Toibin – Rev Alicia Reads on Instagram
Thanks to everyone who has taken part so far! Next week is Classics Week at 746 Books and I’ll be reviewing my latest William Trevor read for A Year With William Trevor
If you have taken part in Reading Ireland Month and I’ve missed your post, give me a nudge in the comments and I’ll add a link to your review.
Don’t forget, if you need a soundtrack to your Irish reading, check out the Begorrathon playlist on Spotify!

I am a 40 something book buying addict trying to reduce the backlog one book at a time!
I enjoyed reading these reviews, Cathy. I have one book and movie review to post yet, probably get it done next week. Loving Reading Ireland already.

Wresting with trying to find new authors rather than fall back on the favorites. But they are favorites… Just wanted to mention another Spotify possibility–that of Marc Gunn, the Celt Father. He has a number of albums out and singles I really enjoy. You might check him out:
I used “Won’t You Come With Me” as the background music on a book trailer I made for one of my grandfather’s books.
